Sister M. Susan Gross, RSM

Gross, Sister Mary Susan, 87, a Sister of Mercy for 67 years, died December 30, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence.

Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Susan (D’Andrea) Gross, and sister of the late Sister Dolores Gross, O.P.  Sister Susan is survived by her sister, Sister Mary Viola Gross, RSM.

Sister M. Susan excelled in her Mercy ministry as an Elementary Teacher in several parochial schools in Cranston.  In Sister’s later years in education she served as Guidance Counselor in Secondary Education both in MA and RI Catholic Schools; most recently at St. Mary Academy-Bay View.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, preceded by a Mercy Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Sister’s memory to the Sisters of Mercy, 15 Highland View Road, Cumberland, RI 02864 will be appreciated.  Information and condolences please visit: www.galloglyfuneralhome.com
