P. Miriam Menard

MENARD, P. Miriam, (Richard), 74, formerly of MacArthur Blvd., Coventry and Tarpon Springs, FL, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was the wife of the late Richard G. Menard.  Born in Norwalk, CT, she was a daughter of the late Aram R. and Berthe L. (Fortin) Richard. She resided in Coventry for most of her life.

Mrs. Menard was an insurance underwriter with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 25 years before retiring in 2010.  She was a member of the Club Frontenac Women’s Auxiliary and the Pawtuxet Valley Women’s Junior League.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline M. Baris of Coventry and two sons, Commander Gregory R. Menard, USN of Virginia Beach, VA and Christopher R. Menard of Coventry; a sister, Jacqueline A. Gourd of West Warwick; seven grandchildren, Christopher J. Menard, Lauren, Emily and Olivia Menard and Rachel, Jessica and Cameron Baris and several nieces and nephews.

Dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.  Mom always put her children and grandchildren ahead of herself. 

Her funeral will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10 am from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in Christ the King Church, 120 Legris Ave., West Warwick.  Interment will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery.  Visiting hours, Sunday 4-7 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
