Melissa: It was with great sadness that I read the recent obituary for your dear mom in the Hartford Courant. I sincerely regret that I am unable to get to the funeral mass tomorrow. Her picture brought back a flood of memories. I first met your mom when she was my student intern pursuing her MSW degree. I was her field supervisor and shortly thereafter I hired her to be the Executive Director of St. Agnes Home in West Hartford. Her tenure there was characterized by her compassionate and skilled leadership and the constant revenue challenges. Through it all she persevered with a passion for the work, a love of the young women and their children, the respect of her Board of Directors and staff, and a wonderful sense of humor. I missed Mary when she left St Agnes Home and we lost track of each other. I am so glad she had time with you and Feidlim and her grand children. May she rest in peace and may you continue to find peace in your heart, joy in your fond memories, and comfort in your sorrow among friends and family. God bless! Pat Johnson

Mary brought a ready smile to the front desk of the YMCA, where she worked and I met her. I was surprised and saddened to learn of her passing. Prayers of peace.

As a former neighbor of Mary's at Southwinds, I am saddened by the news of her sudden death. She was a bright light in our community, always positive, always smiling and willing to help her neighbors. She touched the lives of many and made a difference in our world. I will miss her deeply. Rest in peace.
