Irene M. Stafford

STAFFORD, Irene M., (Chalifoux), 86, of Vega Drive, Warwick, passed away, Monday, Sept. 21, 2015 at Greenwood Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Warwick.

She was the wife of the late Norman H. “Red’ Stafford.  Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Alfred L. and Ovelena M. (Tetreault) Chalifoux.  She was a resident of Warwick for the past 55 years.

Mrs. Stafford was an inventory/receiving manager at the former Apex in Warwick for 20 years before retiring in 1987.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved animals especially her dogs.

She is survived by two sons, Gary P. Stafford and Kevin C. Stafford both of Warwick; two sisters, Celia Downey of York, PA and Maryanne Williams of Coventry; a brother, Jude Chalifoux of Charlestown and two grandsons, Vincent and Kyle Stafford. She was the sister of the late Dolores Bishop, Teresa Eager, Rita Cayouette, Joseph and Alfred Chalifoux.  

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick.  Funeral Service Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at 9:00 am in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Stafford’s memory to the Devin Laubi Foundation, 504 Main Road, Westport, MA 02790 (www.mydevin.org) would be appreciated.
