Damaride "Dora" (Saccente) Carissimo

CARISSIMO, Damaride “Dora” (Saccente), 100, of Hatheway Dr., West Warwick, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 at Kent Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Marius Carissimo, M.D., and Nunzio Stallone, M.D.  Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Laura (Lodispodo) Saccente.  She lived in Rome for many years before moving to West Warwick in 1989.

Mrs. Carissimo was a nurse in her husband’s medical office in Rome for many years before retiring.  She enjoyed playing solitaire and knitting.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa “Terry” Powell, with whom she lived; three grandchildren, Cara Dawn Grossguth and her husband Robert of West Warwick, Wendy Studley and her husband Kevin of Seekonk and Richard Powell and his wife Heather of Coventry; six great grandchildren, Jenna Grossguth, Hunter Studley, Samantha Studley, Nathan Thiboutot, Rylee Powell and Avery Powell and a sister, Rose Saccente of West Warwick.  She was the sister of the late Domenic Saccente and Lee Gismondi.

Visitation and funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 from 8:30 -10:00 in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Clement Church, 111 Long St., Warwick.  Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Cornerstone Adult Services, 3270 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886 in her memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences, please visit: www.henault-gallogly.com
