L'Heureux, Roland R., 87, of Lexington Avenue, West Warwick, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Kent Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Loretta J. (Kawa) L’Heureux. Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Romeo R. and Eva A. (Roy) L'Heureux. He resided in West Warwick since 1976.
Mr. L'Heureux was the service manager at Arlington R.V. SuperCenter for many years before retiring in 1991 and remaining there part time until recently. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Newman K. Perry Destroyer. He enjoyed traveling and visited 41 states in the US and numerous visits to Quebec, Canada. He was an avid bowler for 30 years and bowled up until a month before passing. He was a Senior Olympian and once bowled a 299 game.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Rewers of Sacramento, CA; two grandchildren, Jonathan M. Rewers and Jessica McCabe both of Sacramento; a great grandson, Christian McCabe; several cousins including, Gerry and Kathy Roy and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Chester S. Rewers and brother of the late Jeanne T. and Leo H. L'Heureux.
His funeral will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 9:00 am from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry. Interment will follow with military honors in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Thursday 4:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Labre Indian School, E.
