William “Bill” A. McNeilis, 76, of Coventry, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 in Providence, RI.
He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen A. (Mann) McNeilis for thirty-six years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Marie A. (Roy) McNeilis.
Bill was the father of Kellie Dalton and her husband Chris, William “Bill” McNeilis, Jr., Kim Bertrand and her husband Ken; five grandchildren, Jason Lavoie, Jr., Michaela Branning, Morgan Ferguson and the late Brandon Iser and Shelby Lavoie and five great-granddaughters, Olivia and Blair Branning, Evelyn Iser, Vivian and Genevieve Lavoie. He was the brother of the late Colette Fields, Michelle Allen and James McNeilis.
He served six years in the Navy Reserve, two of those years aboard the USS Hartley (DE-1029). He was a member of the West Warwick American Legion Post 2.
Bill was Material Manager at Varian, Inc. and Agilent Technologies for many years before retiring in 2014. He enjoyed spending time with his family, vacationing with his wife and playing golf.
His funeral will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in SS. John and Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Interment with military honors will be held in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
