Wilhelmine L. (Renner) Barney

BARNEY, Wilhelmine L., (Renner), 83, formerly of West Warwick, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry.

She was the beloved wife of the late Hugh A. Barney, Sr.  Born in Augsburg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Fritz and Luise (Lutz) Renner.  She was a resident of West Warwick and Coventry for many years.

Mrs. Barney is survived by a daughter, Donna L. Barney of West Warwick; a son, Joseph H. Barney of West Warwick; two siblings, Rosemarie Wittmann and Juergen Lutz both in Germany, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  She was the mother of the late Hugh A. Barney, Jr and sister of the late Kurt Renner and Honnelore Renner.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 9:00-10:15 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a funeral home service at 10:15 am.  Interment will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.  In lieu of flowers contributions to a charity of one’s choice in Mrs. Barney’s memory.
