Vincent J. Terracciano (1931-2022)
Vincent passed away peacefully on September 6 at the age of 91. He was the fourth and youngest child of Domenico and Giuseppina (D’Elia) Terracciano, who came to the U.S. from the Naples region of southern Italy.
He was born and lived his entire life in West Warwick. He graduated from West Warwick High School in 1950 and enlisted as a private in the Army in 1952. He served in the Korean War (34th Infantry), was decorated with four medals, and was honorably discharged as a platoon corporal in 1954. He married Dorothy Clark (1933-2020) of West Warwick, with whom he had three sons. They were married for 66 years. He worked at the U.S. Naval Base at Quonset Point as an inspector of aircraft instruments until the base was deactivated in 1974. He then worked as a watchmaker and manufacturing inspector at Ostby & Barton and Astromed until he retired in 1999. He enjoyed learning about history and watching classic films and westerns. And he loved to dance and sing; he was voted best dancer in his high school class. He will always be remembered as a kind, good-natured, cheerful, generous, and courteous man who got along well with everybody.
Vin was a devoted husband, dedicated father, and caring grandfather. He is survived by three sons, Thomas, Kevin, and Kerry, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
