PODGURSKI, Vincent F., 95, of Podgurski Street, West Warwick passed away, Thursday, September 28, 2023 at home.
He was the beloved husband of the late Brenda D. (Mulhall) Podgurski, who passed away in 2012. A lifelong resident of West Warwick, a son of the late John and Anna (Magiera) Podgurski.
Mr. Podgurski was a clerk with the United States Postal Service, West Warwick Branch for thirty-seven years before retiring in 1984. Following retirement he was employed for ten years with the Kent County VNA. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, a life member of the West Warwick American Legion Post 2, a past member of the Crompton Veterans Organization and an avid golfer.
He is survived by three children, Maureen DiChristofaro, Charleen Haas and her husband Rawie and Timothy Podgurski; a sister, Olympia Hattoy; five grandchildren, Joshua DiChristofaro, Meghan Keenan, Bekah Sondregger, Rawie Haas and Stephanie Reddin and six great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Kathleen and Michael Podgurski; step-father of the late Joseph and Bernard Lessard and brother of the late Rosalie Augustowski, Mary Lesniak, Veronica Benoit, Helen Chagnon, Bernice Gough, Frank J. Podgurski and James A. Podgurski.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Washington St., Coventry. Interment with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Spina Bifida Association (www.spinabifidaassociation.org/donate) in his memory would be appreciated.
