Toube (Mitchell) Wohl

Toube (Toby) Wohl passed away peacefully at home on Block Island, Rhode Island on October 21, 2024. She was 90 years old.

Raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, Toube, her husband Bennet, and twin sister Florence Shore all graduated from Rutgers College of Pharmacy. After assisting Bennet with a successful New Jersey family pharmacy business, in 1980 Toube, Bennet, and their son Ken established the Block Island Pharmacy on the island, later acquiring and operating the Gothic Inn Bed and Breakfast as well. Toube and Bennet made Block Island their home for over four decades.

In her leisure time, Toube found joy in the simple pleasures of gardening. Toube's family was her pride and joy. She cherished each moment spent with them. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Bennet; three sons, Larry, Ron and Ken; five grandchildren, Abigail, Sophia, Emily, Maxwell, and Daniel, and her twin sister Florence Shore.

Toube was preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Yetta Mitchell and her brother Seymour.

A graveside funeral service was held at the Block Island Cemetery on Friday October 25, 2024 at 10 a.m., followed by a gathering at the 1661 Inn.
