BARBISH, Thomas J., 79, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Louise A. (Boucher) Barbish, they had been married for thirty-seven years. Born in Hamtramck, Michigan, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Marie (Przybylski) Barbish. He was a resident of Coventry for thirty-six years.
Mr. Barbish was employed with Ciba Geigy Corporation as a chemist for many years until it closed in 1989, following its closure, he worked for Perkin Elmer as a Customer Service Engineer until his retirement in 2004. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, an avid sailor and loved rocks and astronomy.
Tom was a sports enthusiast, especially loved the Detroit Red Wings hockey team and was a Ham Radio Operator. He belonged to the Skyscrapers Amateur Astronomical Society, a lifelong passion. He also belonged to the Rhode Island Mineral Hunters rock and mineral club for 18 years.
Besides his wife he leaves a sister, Dolores Lukaszek; a niece and three nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Eugene Barbish and two nephews.
