Theodore 'Ted' W. Gourd, Jr.

GOURD, Jr., Theodore W. ‘Ted’, 90, of Warwick formerly of West Warwick, passed away Saturday morning, April 8, 2023 at Brentwood Nursing Home, Warwick.

He was the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline A. (Keegan) Gourd, upon her passing in 2016 they had been married for 64 years.  Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Theodore W. Gourd, Sr. and Rachel (Joubert) Gourd.  He resided in West Warwick for most of his life until moving to Warwick in 2013. 

Mr. Gourd was employed as a salesman with John Hancock Life Insurance Company for many years and later at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division in Quonset as a timekeeper for many years until retiring.  He was a graduate of West Warwick High School and served with the US Army during the Korean War. Ted will always be remembered as a great storyteller and having a wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by three sons, Ronald K. Gourd and his wife Colleen in Tennessee, Alan N. Gourd and his wife Deborah of East Greenwich and Kenneth W. Gourd and his wife Leslie of West Warwick; six grandchildren, Aimee and her husband Jeremy, Neal, Ryan and his wife Laurel, Justin, Maris and her husband Geoff, Chad and Jason and four great grandchildren, Breiana, Owen, Sylas and Greyson.  He was the brother of the late Theresa Guthrie and Roger D. Gourd.

The Gourd family would like to thank the staff of Ethan Place Assisted Living in Warwick for the excellent care you gave our dad during his stay at your facility.
