Stephen D. Sylvia

Stephen D. Sylvia, 52, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 20, 2024 at home and will forever be missed.

Stephen was known for his caring and thoughtfulness and always had kind words for everyone he met.

Born in New Bedford, MA, grew up in Coventry, RI, beloved son of Shelley A.Vescera and her husband Mike of West Warwick and Steve Sylvia and his wife Pati of Narragansett. He has resided in Orlando, FL since 2012.

Stephen, a graduate of University of Rhode Island in MIS, worked at Siemens Corporation as an IT Service Professional for over 20 years. Prior to that, he was at Nortel Networks for 4 years.

Stephen loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed being outdoors, biking and especially loved walking in his neighborhood and spending time with his many friends he made from living and working in Florida. He reached out to everyone on every holiday, never missing a chance to share his warm wishes and kindness.

Besides his parents he leaves siblings, Kerri, Beth, Evan, Alec, Dean and Dana as well as a niece and many nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of your choice in Stephen’s name in his memory would be appreciated.
