Sister Mary Conlon, RSM

Conlon, Mary, 86, a Sister of Mercy for 68 years, formerly known as Sister Mary Joella, died at Mount St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland on February 4, 2018.

Sister was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (McNally) Conlon.  She is predeceased by sisters, Anne Marie and Dorothy Conlon.  Sister is survived by brothers, James of Greenville, RI and Joseph of Warwick, RI.  Sister Mary leaves her dear friend of 40 years, Ann P. McDermott of Greenville.

Sister Mary was a compassionate religious woman who touched, with Mercy, the lives of the children she taught as well as the professional peers with whom she ministered and befriended in many a pastoral setting.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 538 Broadway, Providence, RI.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at St. Mary’s with a Mercy Prayer Service at 10:40 a.m.  Interment will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Sister’s memory to the Sisters of Mercy, 15 Highland View Road, Cumberland, RI 02864 will be appreciated.
