Scott Raymond Silva, 63, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, November 23, 2025, at Kent Hospital in Warwick, surrounded by the love and comfort of his devoted daughter, son in-law and family. Scott took his final breath and his loving heart put to rest as Lisa whispered, “Scott, it’s time to come home now”.
Scott was the beloved husband of the late Lisa M. (Bello) Silva, with whom he shared thirty-eight loving years together, thirty-three in which they shared a beautiful marriage of strength and a forever love before her passing in June of this year. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Raymond and Madeline “Maggie” (Furtado) Silva. He was a proud lifelong resident of West Warwick.
Scott dedicated twenty years of service to the State of Rhode Island, working in the environmental services department at Eleanor Slater Hospital, Pastore Complex in Cranston, before retiring in 2003.
A graduate of West Warwick High School, he played hockey during his school years and baseball for Babe Ruth. He was also a part of the Riverpoint Rockers and St. Anthony’s Men’s Softball League. A true passion for sports, Scott was a dedicated New England sports fan. He faithfully rooted for the Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He loved watching college sports especially, PC Basketball and Notre Dame Football. In his younger days, Scott could be found on the golf course. Later, he and Lisa enjoyed watching golf together.
A man of deep love and generosity, Scott’s doors were always open and laughter was always guaranteed. Scott could always be found in the kitchen. His love for cooking was inviting and welcoming as family and friends came to enjoy his hospitality and sense of humor. Scott always found a reason for a party, to dress funny and make those around him laugh. Anyone who knew Scott, knew he was a simple man and lived every moment to the fullest.
“Scottie” always did the right thing for others and could be counted on to lend a helping hand.
He and Lisa were past members of the Holy Ghost Society in West Warwick where they faithfully hosted many crowns and joyfully participated in the annual Labor Day Festa. Scott loved a parade and the music that followed, especially the Portuguese Independent Band. He was a member of the PIC Club (Portuguese Instructional Club) West Warwick and past member of the Anthony PNA, Coventry.
He leaves his cherished daughter, Brieona A. Quaranto, and her husband Jon of Warwick; and his two beloved grandsons, Anthony Vincent and Angelo Nicanor, who gave him the best gift of becoming a Vuvu!
Known to many as “Uncle Scott”, he leaves behind his niece Melissa Griffin and his great nephews Sean and Brendan Griffin of West Warwick. Scott was the brother in-law of Paul, Fran, Gary, and Steve. The late Sandra and Joe. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends, including his lifelong friend Manny Leander and dearest cousins, especially John Silva. Scott was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Salisbury and Deborah J. Lech.
Scott will truly be missed by his family and all those he’s touched. May his memory always live on in his sense of humor, passion for cooking and his giving heart.
This season, his family is most grateful to the nurses and Doctors at Kent Hospital Intensive Care Unit, the Progressive Care Unit and his care team at Elmwood Healthcare and Atwood Pharmacy.
In lieu of flowers, spread kindness, pay it forward, or simply help someone in need. Scott’s generosity and appreciation always came deep within his heart.
