Robert W. Underwood, Sr.

Robert W. Underwood, Sr., 87, of West Warwick, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at Kent Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Gladys R. (Mulvey) Underwood, they had been married for sixty-two years.  Born in Cranston, a son of the late Walter J. Underwood, Sr. and Hazel L. (Love) Underwood.  He was a resident of Johnston before moving to West Warwick in 1972.

Mr. Underwood was an expeditor at Brown & Sharpe Mfg. for over twenty years.  He was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church and the former St. Matthias Church where he belonged to the choir and assisted with the Sunday readings.

Besides his wife he leaves three children, Karen E. Health of Putnam, CT, Robert W. Underwood, Jr. of West Warwick and Heather M. Richards of North Smithfield; four grandchildren, Consuela, Jennifer, David and Alexander; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Theresa A. Musco.  He was the brother of the late Walter J. Underwood, Jr. and Betty M. Underwood.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. 

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Episcopal Church, 132 Peckham Lane, Coventry.  Interment will be private. Information and condolences, please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
