Rita M. (Field) Geary

Rita M. (Field) Geary, 96, formerly of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, June 19, 2026, at Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini in North Kingstown.

She was the wife of the late Bruce C. Geary, who passed away in 2024. She was a daughter of the late Walter and Pearl Field. Rita was a resident of West Warwick for most of her life.

Rita dedicated more than thirty-five years of service to the former Ladd School in Exeter, where she was employed as a supervisor until her retirement. She was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses of Harmony Hospice, and especially to the compassionate nurses and staff at Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini, whose kindness, comfort, and exceptional care brought Rita peace and dignity during her final days.

She is survived by her children, Earlene Laurence, Lonnie Puckett, William Puckett, Terrance Puckett, and Randall Puckett; eight cherished grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Bruce A. Geary.

In accordance with Rita’s wishes, her funeral service and interment will be private.
