Rita (Tomasso) DiCaprio, 95, of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Assunta Tomasso and the beloved wife of the late Benito DiCaprio. Together with Benito, she owned and operated Providence Lacquer & Supply Centre, proudly building a family business that continues today. For many years, she shared her life with her longtime companion, Frank Saccoccia.
Rita loved golf, was a longtime member of Valley Country Club, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren and watching them grow. She served as a Corporator of Centreville Bank and was a member of the St. Anne’s Sodality at Sacred Heart Church.
She leaves behind her daughters, Patricia Keough (Brian) and Lynn Kilkenny (Peter); grandchildren Peter (Chastity), David (Tina), and Shannon Kilkenny; great-grandchildren Hannah and Jaxson; and her sister Angela Carey and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan DiCaprio and her siblings Michael, Ralph, Domenic, John Tomasso, Mary Bouthillier, Rose St. Jean, Annie Levesque and Florence Rogers.
Visitation will be Friday, November 28, 2025, from 8:00–9:30 a.m. at the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
