Raymond "Luxie" Luz Obituary

LUZ, Raymond “Luxie”, 86, of West Warwick, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry.

A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was a son of the late Jose D. and Maria (Freitus) Luz. 

Mr. Luz was employed at Leviton Manufacturing and Victor Electric for many years until retiring in 1995.  He was an avid Red Sox fan and UConn Huskies Women’s Basketball.  He especially loved hanging with the “Lippitt” Boys” every Thursday.

He is survived by his three children, Robin Luz-Goggins (late husband James), Raymond J. Luz (Rita) and Tracy A. Santos (Robert); his companion, Theresa Gavitt; three sisters, Louise St. Germain, Marion Hoxie and Rita Laferriere; a brother, Jimmy Luz; four grandchildren, Eddy, Nick, Iyesha and Jamar; six great grandchildren, Serenity, J’Von, Amir, Leiella, Isaiah and Victoria and many nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Joseph, George, Mary, Dorothy and Vicky.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2020 from 9:00-10:30 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Anthony Church, 10 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick, RI 02893 in his memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
