Raymond V. Kusiak, 90, formerly of West Warwick, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich.
He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley R. (Dobrwado) Kusiak, they were married for over 51 years upon her passing in 2011. Born in Coventry, the son of the late John and Felicia (Szarek) Kusiak.
Mr. Kusiak worked as a businessman in the textile chemist industry all his professional life. He attained his degree from the University of Rhode Island in Chemistry. Upon retirement in the late 1990’s he enjoyed those years with his beloved Shirley. Many days were spent enjoying golf at the Alpine Country Club and wintering on the east coast of Florida. In addition, they travel around the globe and enjoyed having many adventures together.
Ray was also proud of his service in the Army reserve.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Alice Rekas and her husband John, Celia Ogrodnik Petrarca, Mildred Magiera and her husband Victor and his brother Alfred Kusiak and his wife Amelia.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington St., Coventry. Interment will follow with military honors in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery at St. Charles Cemetery, Farm Street, Blackstone, MA.
