LUVARA, Phyllis A. (Tarr), 89, a supportive wife and mother, passed away Saturday evening, February 27, 2021.
Phyllis was born February 5, 1932 in Holiday’s Cove, West Virginia to Floyd and Ethel (Ramsey) Tarr.
She was a dedicated teacher for decades at Springdale Elementary School. She loved teaching first grade as she saw it as an opportunity to create a love of learning in reading and math. She was a deacon at the First Congregational Church of Stamford. In her retirement, she enjoyed painting, basket making and double solitaire with her grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Anthony Luvara.
She is survived by her children Patrick Luvara and Lynn Luvara, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
