MESOLELLA, Phillip M., 73, of Curry Road, Cranston, passed away Tuesday evening, March 3, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at Fatima Hospital, North Providence.
He was the beloved husband of Joyce S. (Robideau) Mesolella, they had been married for forty-eight years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Agostino and Evelyn R. (Romano) Mesolella. He was a resident of Cranston for forty-eight years.
Mr. Mesolella was a tool and die maker at Tercat Tool & Die Company in Providence for over forty years before retiring in 2016. He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran serving as a crew chief and door gunner on a C-47 Chinook Helicopter flying numerous combat missions. He received two Air Metals and a Meritorious Service Metal. He was an avid model train collector.
Besides his wife he leaves two brothers, Gerald A. Mesolella and his wife Joan of East Bridgewater, MA and Agostino “Gus” Mesolella, CMSgt., (Ret.) and his wife Maureen of Warwick and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 9:00-10:30 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Interment with military honors in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
