Patrick England Obituary

On September 17, 2025, the world lost the light and joy of Patrick Garner England, age 35. Patrick was the kindest, quirkiest, funniest, and most intelligent person anyone could ever hope to meet. His quick wit, big heart, and one-of-a-kind perspective made life brighter for everyone around him.

Patrick was born in Darien, CT, the beloved son of Lisa Ommerle (stepfather Wayne Pinkham) and Frederick England (stepmother Suzanne England). When he was five years old, his mother moved him and his two siblings to Block Island, RI, where he grew up surrounded by ocean air, a close-knit community, and the beauty of island life. It was there that he became the man so many came to know and love.

Patrick’s creativity and curiosity were boundless. At just 14, he built his own gaming computer from scratch, becoming the ultimate computer person in the family. He had a lifelong love of learning, always reading, exploring, and diving deep into new ideas. Patrick was also a gifted artist, with passions for videography, poetry, video game creation, and art that reflected the way he saw the world.

Most memorably, Patrick loved to make people laugh. This love more recently led him to throw his hat into stand-up comedy. When he was out and about, he was never happier than when telling a story that left everyone around him doubled over with laughter. His humor was sharp, goofy, and full of warmth—forever leaving a smile in his wake.

Patrick’s quirks were part of what made him so special. He saw life through a different lens, one that was playful, thoughtful, sensitive, and endlessly curious. Whether he was performing comedy, tinkering with technology, or capturing moments on film, he found unique ways to connect with people and leave his mark on the world.

Patrick is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lisa Ommerle and Wayne Pinkham; his stepmother, Suzanne England; his uncle, Richard Pernod; his younger brother, Matthew England, and girlfriend, Kaylin Yanginski; his older sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Darren Dervan; and his beloved nieces, Dylan and Samantha, who adored their Uncle Patrick’s silliness, big heart, and excitement to teach them how to “become a wizard.” He also leaves behind his best friend, Zach Wilson, who in his and his family’s hearts was truly his older brother. He is remembered with love by extended family and countless friends whose lives he touched. He is predeceased by his father, Frederick England, with whom he is now reunited.

Though his time with us was far too short, Patrick filled his years with love, humor, and unforgettable moments. He will be remembered forever as someone who saw beauty in unexpected places, who made us laugh when we needed it most, and who lived life on his own vibrant, brilliant terms.

All who loved him are welcome to join us in remembering Patrick’s laughter, creativity, and remarkable spirit at a celebration of life this Saturday, September 27th, at 12:30 p.m. at Kimberly’s Restaurant on Block Island. Patrick loved wandering the island in search of unique rocks, pebbles, and shells, always delighted to find one and gift it to a friend or family member.

In his memory, the family invites everyone attending to bring a small island pebble, rock, or shell that they find interesting (either found or decorated) to add to a collection jar placed at the entrance.

The event will also be streamed live on Facebook and social media, with a direct link available the day of. For streaming questions or issues, please email Zach Wilson at Zwil0712@gmail.com.
