Patricia "Tricia" K. (Keenan) Ribeiro

Patricia K. “Tricia” (Keenan) Ribeiro, 70, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, December 21, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the devoted and cherished wife of John J. Ribeiro, with whom she shared forty-three years of marriage. Born in Warwick, Pat, "Tricia" was the beloved daughter of the late John J. and Mary E. (O’Reilly) Keenan and was a lifelong resident of West Warwick, a community she deeply loved and faithfully served.

Pat dedicated more than three decades of her life to education as a lower elementary school teacher with the West Warwick School District. She touched countless young lives during her thirty-two-year career at John F. Horgan Elementary, Providence Street School, and Wakefield Hills Elementary Schools retiring in 2009. During those 32 years she was also the WWTA secretary for many years, volunteered as a mentor in the West Warwick School District and taught CCD at St. Anthony’s Church, where her faith and generosity of spirit shone brightly. Her commitment to education continued following retirement when she worked with the Rhode Island Department of Education, reviewing school testing performance. Even then, her passion for teaching never waned—she subbed for many years in the elementary schools, with the last few years doing Math district testing. Pat or Patty as friends knew her was also a dedicated member at the P.A.S.C in West Warwick. 

Above all, Pat "Tricia" treasured time spent with her family and being a Nana, especially her adored grandchildren, Giovanni and Catherine, who were the light of her life. She delighted in gatherings with her sisters, especially at her sister’s “beach house,” never missing an episode of Days of Our Lives,  traveling with her best friend, her husband, and creating lasting memories with her family filled with laughter, love, and warmth.

In addition to her husband and grandchildren, she leaves her loving children, Mary C. Longo and her husband Biagio and John P. Ribeiro. She is also survived by her siblings, John Keenan (Gayle), Eileen Nagel (Larry), and Mary Beth Jordan (late Michael), along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 8:45 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Interment will follow in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
