Patricia M. (Gelinas) Skurka

Patricia M. (Gelinas) Skurka, 83, a lifelong resident of Fiskeville, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 9, 2025, at Riverview Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Coventry.

Born in Providence, Patricia was the daughter of the late Lionel and Jeannette V. (Roberts) Gelinas. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Skurka, who predeceased her in 1997. Their devoted marriage and partnership were a cornerstone of her life, and her love for her family remained constant and unwavering.

Patricia is survived by her two loving sons, Curtis D. Skurka and his wife Elaine, and Steven V. Skurka and his wife Joan. She was the cherished sister of the late Roberta L. Briggs. Her family was her pride and joy, and she will be remembered for the warmth, care, and quiet strength she shared with them throughout her life.

A dedicated and valued employee, Patricia worked for many years at AstroNova (formerly Astro-Med, Inc.) in West Warwick, where her commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression before she retired in 2014.

A woman of deep faith, Patricia was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in West Warwick. She found joy in participating in the church’s folk music group, where her love of music and community came together in harmony.

Patricia also found peace in tending to her garden. With gentle hands and a patient heart, she nurtured flowers and plants just as she nurtured her relationships—with quiet devotion, steadfast care, and enduring grace.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 62 Pleasant Street, West Warwick. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
