It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Norman J. Plaziak, who passed away at the age of 88 at his home in West Warwick on Thursday, January 9, 2025. A man of unyielding devotion, Norman was the cherished husband of the late Lola J. (Compton) Plaziak, his beloved partner for 64 wonderful years until her passing in 2023. Born and raised in West Warwick, Norman was the proud son of the late Stanley and Eva (Gadoury) Plaziak and remained a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown.

A respected and hardworking entrepreneur, Norman co-owned the esteemed Henault & Plaziak Construction Company alongside his dear friend, Arthur Henault, before founding Plaziak Construction. His dedication to his craft and community was unparalleled, and he continued to contribute significantly until his retirement.

Norman was not only a skilled tradesman but also an enthusiastic golfer who found joy in the greens and fairways. He relished watching sports and cherished every moment spent with his family. His unwavering love and commitment to his family were the cornerstones of his life.

Norman leaves behind a legacy of love through his sons, Dwayne J. Plaziak and James G. Plaziak, both of West Warwick; his five cherished grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Corey, Joshua, and Jacob Plaziak; and his three adored great-grandchildren, Kyla, Hope, and Lola. He was predeceased by his dear children, George, Mary, and John Plaziak, whose memories he held close to his heart.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to pay their respects on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. Following visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at SS. John and James Church, Washington Street, West Warwick. Norman will be laid to rest with military honors at St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.
