Norma A. Prata (Buonaiuto), age 87, passed away on March 19, 2026. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Norma lived a life defined by love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those closest to her.
Norma was married for 62 beautiful years to her beloved husband, James Prata, who passed away just one year and ten days before her. Their love was enduring and steadfast—a true partnership that served as the foundation of her family.
She was the loving mother of James Prata, Leah Smith and her husband Richard, and Julianne Hopgood and her husband Andy. Her family was her greatest pride and joy.
Norma was also the cherished grandmother of nine beautiful grandchildren and the proud great-grandmother of two great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored beyond measure.
Norma was a hairdresser by trade, a profession she carried with pride and care, forming lasting connections with those she served.
She was the heart of her home, most often found in the kitchen preparing bountiful delicious meals with any ingredients she could find.
Her home was always warm, welcoming, with lots of laughter and encouraging conversations.
Norma expressed her love through filling your belly along with your heart and nothing made her happier than having her family and friends gathered around her table.
Her grandchildren were her world. She cherished every moment with them and took great pride in attending their array of activities while constantly encouraging them to participate in the safest ones! Her presence in their lives was a constant source of love, support and encouragement. Which will be greatly missed.
Norma was known for her love, loyalty, wisdom and honest answers. Her kindness and gentle strength touched all who knew her. Her cherished memories will live on in all who were blessed to know her. Truly, everyone who met her, “loved her”.
