Michael R. Holmes, 73, of Capron Street, West Warwick, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2024 at home.
He was the beloved husband of Ethelmay G. (Morton) Holmes, they had been married for fifty two years. Born in Havana, Illinois, a son of Wanda (Combs) Taylor and the late Jerry R. Holmes.
Mr. Holmes was employed at Stanley Bostitch in East Greenwich for several years until retiring. He served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting outdoors.
Besides his wife and mother he leaves three sons, Michael R. Holmes, Jr., Howard J. Holmes and George W, Holmes and his wife Jennie; a daughter, Tanya Holmes; two grandchildren, Dakota Holmes and George Holmes; a brother, Timothy Holmes; a sister-in-law, Emily Jencks; two brothers-in-law, Billy Jencks and George Baton. He was the brother of the late Brenda Taylor Blevins, son-in-law of the late George and Mary Morton and brother-in-law of the late William Morton.
