Michael V. Corrente

Michael V. Corrente, 64, of Warwick, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, September 29, 2025.

Born in Providence, Michael was the beloved son of Rosemary (Fandetti) Corrente of West Warwick and the late Albert Corrente, Sr. Raised in West Warwick, he eventually made Warwick his home, where he lived for many years and built a life centered around family, community, and hard work.

Michael’s life was defined by service, craftsmanship, and a deep love for his family. He began his career with the Rhode Island Department of Corrections, later establishing himself as a respected entrepreneur as the owner and proprietor of MC Construction. His commitment to public service continued through his work with the City of Warwick, where he served as a Building Inspector and was also a member of the Tree Cutting Crew. His hands shaped homes, improved neighborhoods, and quietly served the community he loved.

Michael had a passion for the outdoors and a strong sense of camaraderie. He was a proud member of the South County Rod and Gun Club, the NRA, and the Rhode Island Building Official’s Association. Whether hitting the golf course, wrenching under the hood of a car, enjoying a good movie, or spending time at family gatherings, Michael found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful connections.

He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Rachel M. Shepherd (husband Kyle); his treasured grandson, Riley Shepherd; and eight loving siblings: Peter Corrente, Paula Knott (husband Robert), Cathy Violette (husband Edward), David Corrente, his twin brother Albert Corrente Jr., George Corrente, Susan Corrente, and Paul Corrente. Michael is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will remember him with affection and admiration. He was predeceased by two half-siblings, Albert Peter Corrente and Barbara Robertie.

Michael’s warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of many. His absence leaves a profound void, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 9:00–11:00 a.m. at the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment will be private.
