Marjorie Memi Obituary

Marjorie L. Memi, died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the beloved spouse of Michael Memi who died January, 2016. She is survived by her three daughters, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Although she was a resident of Narragansett for fifty years Marjorie still considered herself a Manhattanite. There was no occasion that did not require a perfectly put together outfit. Whether on a walk along the sea wall or taking a drive in a convertible - hat, heels and beige were involved.  She was the most stylishly dressed shopper at the IGA.

Marjorie was a very sweet woman. Not only was she sweet- she LOVED sweets. She always had a Kit Kat or Twix in her purse. You would never know it by her figure.  She kept in shape by dancing. She and her husband Michael were terrific disco dancers.  Twenty years older than the average club goer, they never waited in lines to get in.

Marjorie and Michael were fixtures on Narragansett Beach. They were nick named Tarzan and Jane in New Jersey and that name followed them to Narragansett. They were a very beautiful couple.

Marjorie loved her dogs and cats. Each November they were piled into the Buick station wagon for their seasonal migration to Delray Beach Florida. Heads stuck out from every window.

We would like to thank all of the staff at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Kingston for taking such great care of our mother for many years. We would also like to thank the Hospice team for their constant and consistent support for years.
