Marie R. (DiCarlo) Lowe, 80, of Hope Valley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. She was the beloved wife of Douglas H. Lowe, Sr.; they had been married for thirty-four years. Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Bisceglio) DiCarlo. She was a native of West Warwick and has resided in Hope Valley for the past 45 years.
Mrs. Lowe was a 1962 graduate of Warwick Vets High School and graduated from Warwick Academy of Beauty Culture in 1963. She had a deep affection for animals, particularly dogs and birds, and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and needle crocheting. She cherished spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Brenda A. Arrigo (AJ), Eric Johnson, and Scott Johnson (Emilia); five grandchildren, Kyle and Jared Saran, Addison and Taylor Johnson, and Olivia Arrigo; a sister, Joanne (DiCarlo) Cardinale of Cranston; and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild to be born soon. She was also the sister of the late Emilio “Deac” D. DiCarlo, Battalion Chief, West Warwick Fire Department (Ret.).
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
