Marie C. (Gilbertie) Greco

GRECO, Marie C. (Gilbertie), 82, of Jamestown, formerly of Warwick, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Newport Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late J. Robert Greco, they had been married for 54 years upon his passing in 2014.  Born in Norwalk, CT, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Theresa (Garafalo) Gilbertie.  She resided in Warwick for many years before moving to Jamestown in 2002.

Mrs. Greco was an avid gardener and loved cooking for her family which was most important to her.

She is survived by three children, John T. Greco and his wife Liz Byrne, Robert D. “Bobby” Greco and his wife Christine and Karen M. Hitte and her fiancé Eric Schaper; four siblings, Theresa Joyce, Salvatore Gilbertie, Joseph Gilbertie and Henry Gilbertie; five grandchildren, Katie McGovney and her husband Tommy, Jackie Greco, Sofia Greco-Byrne, Jessie Hitte and her fiancé James Dambek and Marco Greco-Byrne and a great granddaughter, Addison Rose.

Her funeral will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, Cowesett Road, Warwick.  Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Warwick.
