Marie C. (Mello) Franzone

FRANZONE, Marie C., (Mello), 92, formerly of Cowesett Avenue, West Warwick, passed away Saturday morning, September 30, 2023 at Kent Regency Center in Warwick.

She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew R. Franzone, they had been married for 60 years at the time of his passing in 2013.  Born in North Kingstown, a daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (Moniz) Mello. She lived in East Greenwich for many years before moving to West Warwick in 1989.

Mrs. Franzone was a machine operator at Leviton Manufacturing for thirty-two years before retiring in 1997. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and loved taking day trips to the Connecticut casinos.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane M. Tellier and Mary M. Owens both of West Warwick; two sisters, Cecelia Franzone and Madeline Leander; two grandchildren, Allyson Mackisey and Matthew Owens and four great grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Alice Perry, Veronica Tarbox, Stella Wyche, Theresa Phillips, Roseline Minnick, Irene, Joseph and Manuel Mello.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth Ave., East Greenwich.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery, St. Patrick's.
