CORREIA, Maria E. (Couto), 95, formerly of Sweet Briar Lane, West Warwick, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of RI.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jaime “Jimmy” Correia, they had been married seventy years. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late José Furtado and Etelvina Pereira (Mendonca) do Couto.
Mrs. Correia was employed as a seamstress in the textile industry for many years before retiring. She was the former owner alongside her late husband of the IHOP on Reservoir Avenue in Cranston and she enjoyed walking, traveling, gardening and tending to the vegetable and flower gardens with her husband.
She is survived by a son, H. Robert Correia and his wife Deborah of Coventry; two grandsons, Nathan Correia and his wife Stephanie of Las Vegas, NV and Damien Correia and his wife Jaime of Wyckoff, NJ; three great grandchildren, Matthew, Katelyn and Natalia and a sister, Isidora Xavier in Portugal. She was the sister of the late Roger Couto.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Church Street, West Warwick.
