Marc Lacroix Obituary

Marc M. Lacroix, 70, of Coventry, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Monday afternoon, May 19, 2025 at home.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” Quinn-Lacroix, they shared thirty-eight years of marriage filled with love and companionship. Born in Providence, Marc was the cherished son of the late Maurice N. “Jim” and Lorraine L. (Bolduc) Lacroix. He spent most of his life residing in West Warwick and Coventry, creating a close-knit community of friends and family.

Marc received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island in 1987. He worked in corporate accounting and was a chief financial officer until his retirement in 2014.

Following in his father’s footsteps, as a young man Marc was a champion duckpin bowler and had many lifelong friends from Mac’s Bowlaway Lanes and the duckpin bowling community. He was an avid sports fan, and devoted follower of the URI men’s basketball Rams, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Boston Celtics.

Marc loved good food and wine and for many years was a proud member of the Grapenuts, a wine tasting group. A music lover, he was particularly fond of rock and roll and R&B from the 1960’s and 1970’s and attended many concerts of the most iconic groups of that era.

Marc had an incredible intellect, an impressive memory for facts and details and was passionate and articulate on a wide array of subjects. He loved a good conversation and enthusiastically engaged with people and was genuinely curious about them.

Marc had a big smile and a big, big, heart. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and loyal and steadfast friend.

Besides his wife Betty, Marc leaves behind four siblings: Larry L. Lacroix, Briand E. Lacroix and his wife Joanne Feaster, Celeste C. Lacroix and her husband Adam Ferrell, and Michelle M. Wilcox and her husband Kevin. He is also survived by his loving aunt and godmother, Claire P. Fortin, and several nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember his wisdom and love. Marc was predeceased by his brother, Guy J. Lacroix, whose memory he cherished profoundly.

Marc’s funeral will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 8:45 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick.
