Madelyn R. (Wolfenden) Carrington, 90, formerly a lifelong resident of Hope, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 13, 2026, at Cedar Crest Nursing Center in Cranston.
She was the beloved wife of the late Byron B. Carrington, who predeceased her in 2007. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Luther) Wolfenden.
Madelyn was employed as an accounting clerk in the business office at Sears for forty years before retiring in 1990. She enjoyed camping, ceramics, and knitting, pursuits that reflected her creativity and appreciation for time spent with family.
She is survived by her two sons, Byron Carrington and his wife Wendy, and Wayne Carrington and his wife Kathleen; her sister, Marilyn Havens; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Marsha Wolfenden and Melvin Wolfenden.
Her funeral service and interment will be private. Burial will take place in Greenwood Burial Grounds, Coventry. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
