Lucille (Gagnon) Rodrigues

RODRIGUES, Lucille (Gagnon), 88, of Wesleyan Avenue, Coventry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at home.

Married sixty-one years, she was the beloved wife of Joseph Rodrigues.  She was born in West Warwick, the daughter of the late Thomas and Rosalba (Russi) Gagnon.  She resided in the Pawtuxet Valley area for most of her life.

Lucille was a lace weaver in the textile industry for over twenty years until retiring.  She loved her husband, daughters and grandchildren with all her heart and spent twelve happy years alongside her husband as he served in the US Air Force.  She loved a good romance novel and had an addiction to chocolate. She loved playing the slots at Twin Rivers and Foxwoods, and especially enjoyed playing "No Peekie" in the last few years of her life.

Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Kim M. Striby (Gerard) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Laurie A. Varrica (Frank) of Johnston; five grandchildren, Jason and Christopher LaRose, Desiree and Joseph Penno, and Anna Varrica; two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by four brothers and three sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 10:00 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 6 St. Vincent de Paul Street, Coventry (all health and safety guidelines will be observed).  Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the interment will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 or VNA Care New England Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 in her memory would be appreciated.  Arrangements with PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
