Lucille T. (Valerien) Morrissette

Lucille T. (Valerien) Morrissette, 94, formerly of Gough Avenue in West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026, at West Shore Health Center in Warwick.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald E. Morrissette, with whom she shared thirty-six devoted years of marriage until his passing in 2014. Together, they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and quiet strength.

Born in West Warwick in 1931 to Albert and Bernadette (Chamberland) Valerien, Lucille spent her childhood in Crompton. As a teenager, she was a member of the Rhode Island Honor Society and 1948 graduate of St. Xavier’s Academy of Providence.

She dedicated many years of her professional life as a purchasing officer at the Community College of Rhode Island, where she was respected for her diligence, integrity, and warm presence. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built along the way.

Lucille was an avid sportswoman who enjoyed golf, skiing and swimming. She was a wonderful friend and conversationalist, and loved keeping in touch with relatives.

A woman of gentle spirit and enduring grace, Lucille will be remembered for her kindness, her steady resilience, and the simple joys she found in everyday life. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her beloved brother, Robert Valerien. She leaves behind several cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory and the lasting impression she made on all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 AM in SS John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Interment will be private.
