Linda Ann Caduto died peacefully at home in West Warwick, Rhode Island on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Born at Lying-In Hospital (now Women & Infants) in Providence on November 13, 1953, she was the eldest child of Esther (Martone) Caduto and Ralph Caduto, Jr. Linda was predeceased by her father and grandparents, Anna Durante Caduto, Ralph Caduto, Sr., Salvatore Martone, and Elvira Camozzi Martone
Extremely bright, precocious from a young age, and blessed with boundless energy and creativity, Linda was passionate about life and was a loving, generous and devoted sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. After graduating from Warwick Veterans High School, Linda enlisted in the United States Army and served for seven years at the Army Base in Landstuhl Germany, working as a Librarian at the Landstuhl Library and as a Medical Records Technician at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. She loved Europe and traveled widely, exploring the region’s history and culture. Linda lived off the army base, immersing herself in the local community while learning conversational German.
When she returned stateside, Linda lived at her grandmother Anna Caduto’s house on Federal Hill. Loving all things vintage, she opened a successful antique shop in Conimicut Village. She loved to repurpose material from vintage garments and fashion it into historically-accurate doll clothes to sell online.
Linda then attended Rhode Island College and graduated cum laude, earning, concurrently, a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Public Archaeology, and a BA in Geography—all while cultivating a knowledge of ancient Egyptian culture and dreaming of one day exploring Egypt’s historic landscape and archaeology. Linda then earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked for twenty years as a registered nurse at Miriam hospital, caring compassionately for her patients.
While working as a nurse, Linda lovingly restored a historic farmhouse in West Warwick, filling it with antiques and hospitality. Her holiday visitors were lavished with delicious home-baked cookies and treats. Throughout life, Linda was deeply connected to others, while remaining fiercely independent. She liked a good party, saw all the great bands, and loved the ocean.
Linda is survived by her mother, Esther Martone Caduto; siblings: Michael John Caduto and wife Marie, Nancy Jean Hagerty and husband James, and Maryjane Caduto Jordan and husband Louis; partner Jeffrey Alan Lumberg; cousins Deborah A. George and Lori J. Worthington; and dear friends Jamie Bergin and Beverly Leonard. She was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephew—Kathleen (Hagerty) Piranio, Laura (Hagerty) Sapanara, and James Hagerty—and a proud great-aunt.
Linda loved and embraced life and all of those who knew her, and will be sorely missed.
