Laura (Correira) Monteiro

Laura (Correira) Monteiro, 90, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully Friday morning, December 20, 2024 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.

She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Monteiro who passed away in 2011.  Born in Vila Franca, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose F. and Maria Florescinda (Casimiro) Correia.

Mrs. Monteiro was a seamstress with Concordia Fibers in Coventry for many years before retiring.  She was communicant of St. Anthony Church, enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening.

She was predeceased by her daughter Christina M. Pallas and survived by her two grandchildren, Cody Pallas and Krystal Pallas; a sister, Cecelia Furtado of Cranston; a great grandson, Liam Pallas and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria Natalia Coelho, Maria da Pedra Correia, Rosa Correia, Jose Correia, Tiago Correia and Joao Brito Correia.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 8:30-9:30 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will be in SS.
