Kathleen "Kathy" M. (Hazelwood) Cooney

COONEY, Kathleen M. “Kathy” (Hazelwood), 66, of Hornbine Street, Cranston, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of Richard E. Cooney, they had been married forty years.  Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Carmelita H. (Doyle) Hazelwood.  She resided in Cranston for most of her life.

Kathy was employed as a lunch aide with the Cranston School Department for many years until retiring.  She loved the beach and listening to music.

Besides her husband she leaves three children, Michael E. Cooney and his wife Mikala Watson, Ashley Cooney and her fiancé Josh Ragosta and Bryan A. Cooney and a granddaughter, Sidney L. Cooney.  She was the sister of the late Diane M. Morra.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 10:00 am in St. Matthew Church, corner of Elmwood and Park Avenues, Cranston.  Interment will be private.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Beacon Hospice, 1130 Ten Rod Road, Suite C-104, North Kingstown, RI 02852 in her memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences please visit: www.galloglyfuneralhome.com
