Kalliopi “Claire” (Siropoulos) Panagopoulos, 77, of West Warwick, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.
Born in Patra, Greece, Kalliopi was the daughter of the late Kostantinos and Chrisoula Siropoulos. She came to the United States in 1971 with her husband, Nikolaos Panagopoulos and their two toddlers, in search of a new life built on family, faith, and opportunity. Together, Kalliopi and Nikolaos—her beloved husband of 56 years—created a warm and loving home in West Warwick, where they raised their four children and became active members of their community.
For over two decades, Claire and Niko owned and operated Niko’s Grill on Providence Street, where regulars came not only for the delicious food but for the warmth and hospitality that radiated from Claire's smile and heart. Her presence in the restaurant was one of quiet strength, gentle kindness, and unwavering dedication.
Claire’s greatest joy in life came from her family. A devoted wife, nurturing mother, and doting Yiayia, she poured her heart into every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Her love was generous, her spirit gentle yet strong, and her faith an ever-present compass in her life. She had a quiet grace and a deep well of wisdom—always ready to listen, encourage, and comfort.
She is survived by her loving husband Nikolaos, and their four children: Paraskevi “Voula” Devlin and her husband Robert, Theodoros “Teddy” Panagopoulos and his wife Cindy, Kostantinos “Kosta” Panagopoulos, and Chrisoula Piscopio. She will be forever remembered by her eight adoring grandchildren: Kristen, Kortney, Nikolaos, Emily, Melina, Juliana, Alayna, and Christian. Claire also leaves behind five beloved sisters: Aphrodite, Georgia, Tasia, Angeliki and Niki as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends both here, Greece and Germany.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 8:45 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
