Judith Santilli Obituary

Judith A. Santilli, 81 passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.  Born in West Warwick, she was the eldest daughter to the late Joseph and Claire (Joyal) Fontaine.  She graduated from West Warwick High School and soon thereafter married the love of her life, John Santilli, Jr.  They recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary on January 11th. Together they built their home in Warwick, where they raised their two sons. She worked as a manager at Jordan Marsh, later managed West Warwick’s local card shop, The Tenth Inning, and lovingly cared for the children of friends as well as her own great-grandchildren.

Judy and John grew a beautiful garden and passed on generational knowledge about canning and preserving their harvest, particularly tomato sauce and pickled vegetables, two staples in their pantry.  She was known for endless macaroni dinners, hosting holidays with family and friends, especially Thanksgiving.  Her door was always open for a cup of hot tea.

Judy built meaningful relationships and cared deeply for those she loved.  She was thoughtful and attentive offering genuine concern and care that made people feel remembered and important.  She had a special connection with babies, whom she loved to cuddle and care for.  The smile her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought to her was evident.

As she joins her Lord and Savior, she is survived by her loving and devoted husband John Santilli Jr., her sons John Santilli, III (Leeann) and Joseph Santilli (Lisa).  Her sister Elaine M. Moone (Daniel), and her brother Robert J. Fontaine (Chris).  She was the sister of the late Nancy C. Fontaine.

She will also be remembered by her five grandchildren, Samantha (Thaddeus), Ryan (Shay), Jenn (Matt), Casey (Morgan) and Erica (Brent).  Eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many cousins, in-laws and close friends. Her family was her pride and legacy, her love for them will echo through the generations she cherished so dearly.

Judy will be laid to rest in Notre Dame Cemetery. Per her request, calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers in honor of Judy, please pass along an act of kindness.
