Josephine Petrarca Obituary

PETRARCA, Josephine T. (Palazzo), 94, of Toll Gate Road, Warwick, passed away Tuesday evening, September 1, 2020 at Kent Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Petrarca. Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late Guglielmo and Carmella (Lautieri) Palazzo.

Mrs. Petrarca was a hairstylist alongside her daughter for many years and was a co-owner with her husband of the former Toll Gate Driving Range. Family was her life and enjoyed caring and cooking for them.

She is survived by a daughter, Anna R. Polselli; a son, Nicholas J. Petrarca; a sister, Esther Vescera; two grandchildren, Shannon Matrullo and her husband Larry and Matthew Petrarca; a great granddaughter, Genna Matrullo and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Biagio Palazzo, George Palazzo, Jennie Wylie, Anna Appolonio and Rosemary Pelli.

Her funeral service will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Rhode Island SPCA, 186 Amaral St, Riverside, RI 02915 in her memory would be appreciated.
