BOUCHER, Joseph O., 92, of Collier Way, Coventry, passed away at Trinity Health & Rehabilitation Center, Woonsocket, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 17, 2019.
He was beloved husband for 63 years to the late Rita M. (Levesque) Boucher. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Oscar and Angeline (Levesque) Boucher. He was a lifelong resident of the Pawtuxet valley area.
Joseph was an affectionate and devoted father and husband. He learned how to drive a truck at Quonset Point during World War II and following the war he was employed at Champlin Lumber and Coutu Lumber. Later, he completed his career with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation before retiring in 1989. He enjoyed visiting his family in the area and relatives in Canada, fishing with family and friends and appreciated a fun night playing cards.
He is survived by three children, Yvon J. Boucher of West Warwick, Susan M. Boucher of West Greenwich and Daniel J. Boucher and his spouse H. Russell Long of Norton, MA; a sister, Gilberte Boucher of West Warwick; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a great great grandson. He was the brother of the late Rita A. Boucher, Marguerite St. George and Annette LaPlante.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 10:00 am in St. Vincent dePaul Church, 6 St. Vincent dePaul Street, Coventry followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
