Jose U. Maiato

MAIATO, Jose U., 74, of Providence Street, West Warwick, passed away Friday afternoon, January 24, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at Rhode Island Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Maria Trindade (DaPonte) Maiato, they had been married for forty-six years.  Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose M. and Fernanda E. (Santos) Maiato.

Mr. Maiato was a machine technician at Concordia for thirteen years and worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for many years.

He was an avid soccer and baseball fan and enjoyed watching his New York Yankees and Sporting Soccer teams.

Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Charlene Maiato; two sons, Louis Maiato and Steven Maiato and three granddaughters, Gianna Lynn Mallozzi, Lila Trindade Maiato and Emily Marie Maiato.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 8:45 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, One Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.  Visiting hours Tuesday, 5:00-8:00 pm.  Information and condolences please visit:  www.PrataGallogly.com
