Jose D. Estrella

Jose D. Estrella , 78, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by the loving care of his family on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at home.

He was the beloved husband of Maria (Correia) Estrella, they had been married for fifty-four years. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Jose R. and Rosa (Soares) Estrela. He was a resident of West Warwick since 1972.

Jose was a construction worker with Walter Reynolds Construction Company for many years until retiring. He was a member of both the Holy Ghost Society and the Portuguese American Citizens Club (PACC).

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Dennis Estrella and his wife Elizabeth and Christopher Estrella and his wife Karen; three grandchildren, Kyle, Owen and Jazlyn and five siblings, Inez Cordeiro, Almerinda Carvalho, Gabriela Soares, Fernanda Ferraro, Manuela Andrade and Antonio Estrela. He was the brother of the late Alexandrinha Oliveira.

His funeral will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 9:00 AM from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours will be Friday, May 22, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
