Jonathan "Jon" Lonngren Obituary

Coventry – Jonathan “Jon” M. Lonngren, 31, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Alexandria R. (Powers) Lonngren for nine beautiful years. Born in Providence, he was the son of Kenneth W. and Janice B. (Erickson) Lonngren of West Greenwich.

Jon attended Community College of Rhode Island where he studied Fire Science and earned an associate degree. A skilled carpenter, Jon worked at Lonngren Builders, Inc., West Greenwich, for nearly ten years. In addition, Jon dedicated his trade to working for a non-profit organization, Eight Days of Hope, which helps rebuild homes following natural disasters. He was a former volunteer firefighter for the West Greenwich Fire Department and spent many summers in Montana working on a cattle ranch. An avid outdoorsman, Jon enjoyed bow hunting and was a skilled swimmer. Jon spent the last several years proudly building his family home and his presence will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Besides his loving wife and parents, he is survived by five adoring children, Jonadab, Gideon, Rachael, Miriam and Eden; his maternal grandmother, Betty Erickson of East Greenwich; four siblings, Ian and his wife, Fauna, of New Hampshire, Ben and his wife, Nikki, of West Greenwich, Kara of New York and Johanna and her husband, Tim, of Coventry, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date and time. Visitation and floral tributes are respectfully omitted. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, West Warwick. Online condolences and sharing of memorial photos is welcomed at
