John F. Moniz

MONIZ, John F., 80, of West Warwick, passed away March 2, 2022 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.

He was the beloved husband of Madeline I. (Pereira) Moniz, they had been married for fifty nine years.  Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Manuel and Mary (Lima) Moniz.  He was a lifelong resident of West Warwick.

Mr. Moniz was employed as a maintenance welder at Leviton Mfg. for forty-four years before retiring in 2006.  He served with the RI Army National Guard from 1959-1962 and was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony Church.  He enjoyed nothing more than dining and spending time with family and friends and was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Karen M. Moniz.  He was the brother of the late James G. Moniz.

His funeral will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. from the PRATA- GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will follow with military honors in SS.
